Here's another quick and easy project, great for kids, fun adults, and cat lovers. These cute little Sock Kittens are made with a pair of socks, needle and thread, and poly fill.
You'll need:
- A pair of ankle socks
- A pattern (see below)
- A fabric pen
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- Poly fill
- Beads (for the eyes—optional)
Start with a basic pattern (you can copy this—either free-hand it or print the picture out & adjust the pattern to fit your sock).
Flatten the sock, with the heal up and trace the head pattern onto your sock. The heal will be the kittens mouth):
On your second sock, do the same—only this time you'll trace the kitten's body. The heal on this piece becomes the kitten's tail end:
You'll also want to make a little tail.
Cut the pieces out and sew around the edges. Leave a space big enough to allow you to turn the pieces inside out. (Don't sew the end of the tail.)
Stuff your pieces with poly or fiber fill:
Sew the holes up and sew the pieces together:
Draw a little face on your kitten & use it as a guide for your needle and thread:
