88. DIY Instagram Projects

It's crazy to think that when I started this blog, Instagram didn't exist—That it wouldn't exist for another 4 years! But here we are in the Instagram era, so how could I not include projects that make use of the ever-expanding photo-app's popularity? Here are some of the more cool Instagram crafts currently out there (imo)...

72. Photo Blocks

MATERIALS

One Photograph printed at 4x6 or larger
Ruler
Exacto Knife or Utility blade
Four 2"x3" Linoleum Blocks (More if you're using a larger photograph)
Acid-free Rubber Cement
Foam Brush
Gel Medium (Gloss, because it dries clear)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using ruler & exacto knife, cut photograph into 4 2"x3" pieces
   
2. Glue each image to the linoleum blocks
   
3. with foam brush, coat the top of each image with the gel medium (to protect)

There are several online services that allow you to upload your photos and create a professionally printed custom photo book:

Shutterfly:

PricePhoto books range from about $13 (all sums before tax and shipping fees) to $70 for the default number of pages (20). Shutterfly's additional pages range from 65 cents per page for the two smallest book sizes, up to $2.29 per page for the largest. In most cases, you pay a lit more for custom covers.

Mix Book:

PriceRanging from $16 to $70, Mixbook's prices edge Shutterfly's, and ordering extra pages is more economical. (Deluxe covers will cost much more, of course.) Additional pages are cheaper than Shutterfly's, ranging from 50 cents per page to $1.50 per page for the largest.

Picaboo: 

For Windows users. Download the free software and create your own layout. You can choose your size, style, and book cover.
